• The field should be well prepared, free from weeds and with well drainage facility.
• Deep Ploughing: Plough the land to a depth of 60-70 cm to improve drainage and soil aeration.
• Organic Matter: Incorporate well decomposed cow dung or compost about 10-12 tons/acre into the soil to improve fertility and structure. Ensure the land is properly leveled for even irrigation and planting.

N:P:K of 84kg of N, 24kg of P2O5 & 12kg of K2O is necessary for chilli crop period. 
Apply Basal dose: 24kg of N, 24kg of P2O5 & 12kg of K2O
1st Top dressing at 45 days of crop at 12kg N
2nd Top dressing at 60 days of crop at 12kg N 
3rd Top dressing at 75 days of crop at 12kg N 
4th Top dressing at 95 days of crop at 12kg N 
5th Top dressing at 115 days of crop at 12kg N 

Harvesting:
Fresh chilli starts harvesting from 60-65 days after planting .
Red Dry chilli starts harvesting from 85-90 days after planting.

Red chilli Drying:
Red chillies drying is an ideal method for preserving an abundant harvest or surplus for future use.  
Sun drying is the most widely used method. This traditional technique of red chillies drying process involves spreading chilies in a thin layer in direct sunlight on clean, flat surfaces such as hard dry ground. They are periodically rotated to ensure uniform drying. Depending on the weather and the desirable moisture content, drying by the sun can take several days to several weeks.
