Land preparation	The soil should be tilled well up to a depth of 20-25 cm The land is prepared to a fine tilth by two to three deep ploughing and one to two harrowing, followed by leveling. Apply ridger to open the ridges and furrows as per the spacing specifications. Sowing should be done on one side of ridges. The seed is sown on ridges on the side facing the sun at the rate of 2 seeds per hill at 3cm depth.

Irrigation	Immediately after sowing - field should be irrigated. Next irrigation- 3 to 5th DAS, light irrigation must be given, enough soil moisture must be maintained to get a good germination. Subsequent irrigation are given according to season as well as soil moisture conditions. (In Generally Weekley irrigation is preferred)
Nutrient Management (N:P:K)	Providing the right nutrients at the rite time to support healthy growth and fruit development Important Nutrients: Nitrogen: Needed for strong seedlings and plant development, especially before flowering stages. Phosphorus: Needed early on for good root growth and flowering. Potassium: Needed in Larger quantities than nitrogen for better fruit size development. Calcium & Boron: Needed in large quantities especially during flowering, fruit development, and up to harvest. N:P:K = 100:120: 120 Kg / Acre Basal Application: 50% of recomended P & K along with 1/3 of nitrogen during soil preparation or at planting Top Dressing: Apply remaining nitrogen in 2-3 split doses i) First Dose - 20-25 DAT ii) Second Dose - During Flowering/Fruit set iii) Third Dose - During Fruit Development / harvest intervals
Harvesting	Okra fruits should be harvested every day/alternate day (as per market requirement). Harvesting starts around 45th days after sowing. Harvesting period is 8-12 week. The fruits reaches marketable size appx. 4-6 days from the flowering. Export Size- Normal - 9-11cm (5 days after flowering) Baby Okra - 2-3 cm (2 days after flowering)
