Arya - Making Dreams Come True

On 15 acres of land in the village of Budore, Rahul Raikwad harvests a variety of crops. “From tomatoes & chillis to cucumber, watermelon & muskmelon, I use Nunhems seeds for all,”  he proudly mentioned.

Rahul grows Arya tomatoes on 6 acres of his land. It is known for its high yield and consistent size. “Other tomato varieties show differences in shape & size. Over time they lose their round shape and become oblong,” but as for Arya, he continued, “The tomatoes have a consistent, uniform size and round shape in every single picking.” The size is accompanied by the colour and delicious taste, which have helped him sell the tomatoes faster than any other farmer in the local market.

“As compared to other varieties, Arya tomatoes fetch up to 20 rupees higher price per crate (of 25 kgs each) every single time,” Rahul blissfully exclaimed.

Arya tomato displayed stellar resistance against viruses that most other varieties succumbed to, he explained. Due to the excellent resistance, Rahul was able to enjoy a good harvest throughout the picking season. Even when he did not water the plants for 15-20 days, Rahul was surprised to see a batch of healthy tomatoes, ready for picking! All of these factors made him a fervent advocate of Nunhems.

Rahul's association with Nunhems Arya paved the way for higher profits. "This year, I bought a Mahindra pick-up for myself,” he shared. Delighted, he strongly recommends Arya to neighbouring farmers and is eager to expand his association with Nunhems.

Arya - Unbeatable Consistent Size & Striking Colour!

For the last 2 years, Jayesh has been sowing Arya, a variety of tomato by Nunhems on 2 acres of his land. "The quality of the fruit is very good. In every picking, the size of the tomato is consistent and the red colour stands out instantly," he exclaimed.  Arya has become a source of higher yield & profit for Jayesh. He explains that once the canopy is set, the yield is consistent and of high quality.

In the past two years, Arya has commercially caught attention in the market, thanks to its uniform shape and fruit colour. The picking is very rapid with a maturity period of less than 60-65 days. Jayesh highlights that "even after multiple pickings, the size and shine of the tomato are constant."

Arya is a robust seed with virus resistance. Jayesh mentions "even when I stopped watering the field for over 20 days, Arya tomato did not experience any change. There was no reduction in the fruit size or any discoloration in the fruit."

The bunch setting is accompanied with zero instances of flower dropping. This has helped Jayesh harvest a massive yield of 40 tons per acre year on year. The bunch setting, consistent colour, size of the tomato and the high resistance to viruses make Arya the ideal choice for Jayesh. He looks forward to his association with Nunhems Arya tomato and plans to expand the cultivation on more acres of his land.
