Sustainability
Sustainability
For us sustainability is not only something we are obliged to do. Sustainability to us is a key differentiator in our industry. We instantly make sure that sustainability is integrated in our organization. We want to be recognized as a sustainable company through our values, processes, partnerships and solutions. We develop, evaluate, produce, process and supply seeds to the market to make healthy eating more enjoyable and sustainable.
Our motivation at BASF Vegetables is to make healthy eating enjoyable and sustainable, for people, partners and the planet. By sustainable, we mean products and processes that are better for the environment, as well as long-term relationships between people and creating durable, financially healthy businesses.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
We support the United Nations in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which create the framework for sustainable business practices at the economic, social and environmental levels.
We brought the 17 SDG’s back to a short list of 5 that we would like to focus on:
- SDG 2 - Zero hunger
- SDG 8 - Decent work and economic growth
- SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production
- SDG 13 - Climate action
- SDG 17 - Partnerships for the goals
Approaching sustainability from four angles

Sustainability needs to be integrated into our organization, into our functions and into the way we think, act and do business. This means that we not only develop sustainable products for our customers, helping to make agriculture as such more sustainable.
We also look at our own processes and operations to ensure that they live up to our sustainability standards. We will focus our sustainability efforts on four areas: Supplier, Operations, Customers and People/Society:
